*Greco's New York Pizzeria returns to Sherman Oaks with early June opening*
Sherman Oaks will soon gain another late-night New York-style pizza option as Greco's New York Pizzeria prepares to reopen at 4319 Woodman Ave. The family-run restaurant targets an early June opening at the 1,000-square-foot space.
The new location will feature an open kitchen concept with counter seating and late hours. Minor cosmetic renovations are underway before the grand opening.
Greco's first entered the Sherman Oaks market in 1992 with a location on Van Nuys Boulevard, which closed in 2016. The next generation of the family business is now bringing the brand back to the neighborhood where it once operated.
Co-owner Nico Grasu, who grew up in the Valley, said the return to Sherman Oaks felt like a natural fit for expansion. The restaurant currently operates locations in Hollywood and Tarzana.
"We're excited to be back serving the Sherman Oaks community," Grasu said. "We have older customers who have known our dads for a while, so we're excited to get back in the community and serve Sherman Oaks again."
The pizzeria has been part of Los Angeles dining since 1979, when three brothers opened the New York-style restaurant. The menu features whole pies and pizza by the slice, including party-size pies up to 28 inches. Customers can also order salads, pastas, wings, hero sandwiches and gyros.
The storefront at 4319 Woodman Ave previously housed Santino's NY Pizza, which closed at the end of March.
